What? Why are you looking it me like that? Oh…the title… It was inevitable, ok. Just about everyone in the Northern Hemisphere who has read/ watched/ knows someone who has read/ watched Game of Thrones (also known as A Song of Ice and Fire, epic series by American fantasy writer George R R “Please-hurry-up-and-finish-the-next-book” Martin) will be using this phrase as the cold season approaches. Winter is coming.
So @rubyyogi on Twitter has been asking me to upload pics of the lunches I so often Tweet about. As it’s a Friday and I’m done teaching for the day I thought I’d turn a Twitpic into a blog post and tell y’all about what I ate for lunch today at my elementary school on Jeju Island.
My newly-acquired mad teaching skillz were put to the test the very next day. Upon my arrival at school my co-teacher informed me with a smile that she had teacher training or something and so I’d been teaching all the classes myself. “But their homeroom teachers will be there!” she assured me.
Monday dawned, appearing warm from my well-insulated flat. I was lulled into leaving my scarf behind; a move which I came to regret as we drove out of the warm city and into the chilly countryside.
I was very nervous for my first day of proper teaching. But given that I had no idea what I was doing (and that included which lesson the various classes were on) and hadn’t prepared properly, I probably should have been a lot more nervous than I was.
Look, this blog isn’t called The Complainant for nothing, ok?
I know that everyone thinks their office supplies the worst coffee in the world, but I can assure you that mine is the absolute pits.
